Titan Quest Updated to 0.65
Posted: Friday, May 11, 2007 3:44:54 PM | 28735 Views
Finally had some time to go through and clean up some of the stuff in TitanCalc. Here's a list of the changes. Leave feedback after the jump if you have any questions, problems, and all that stuff.
Fixed spelling of Psionic Immolation in Dream Mastery.
Updated Battle Rage to show the correct values for Physical Damage.
Update Dodge to show all 8 ranks in the Warfare Mastery.
Fixed text explaining the clicks, they were reversed.
Added the ability to add in quest rewarded skill points to your builds. The default build is set to 225 points (3x75 levels). You can adjust your build according the rewarded points with the drop down.
Guys over at titanquest.net pointed out some more updates.. so as of 5/13.
Fixed the default build to be 222 points not 225 (3x74 not since you start level 1)
Added the additional ranks to Psionic Burn in Dream mastery.
Added the additional ranks Dissemination in the Nature mastery.
Updated Concussive Blow and Rend Armor in the Defense mastery
Note that when you add your rewarded skills it automatically assumes those are in the points you've assigned. If you see your character's level is showing lower than it is, you probably haven't assigned the extra reward points as part of your overall assignments.
Since I don't force refreshes on the pages you need to clear your cache to get the newest version and all the updates, please try this before reporting any bugs.

Just thought I'd mention that the titancalc has 3 skillpoints too much. You start out at level 1 == 74*3=222.
Nice with the update, though! :)
Will you be putting in a feature so that one can set how much +skills the toon will have?

Please check the thread in TQ.net forum. I've got the values for Psionic Burn, Concussive Blow, Rend Armor and Dissemination listed there.
Thank you for the calculator. ;)

Thank you for adding the "Rewarded Skill Points" section - very handy for planning! I have one question regarding it though. I received two attribute points after finishing the Eye/Hand quest (Eye/Staff) in Egypt. Is this a random bonus or is there a bug - or was this changed by patch v1.3 (I've only been playing the game with patch v1.3). I definitely would have preferred the skill points ;)

A great new feature would be the ability to Over Skill in the calc.. for all the +1/2/3/4 to skills items/builds.

Could you make that the skills can be skilled to +4?
So we could see how powerful the skills are when you have +1/+2/+3/+4 on all skills. That would be awesome.

Yes it would be good if one could at least say he is +1..4 in a mastery.
A per-skill-version could be nice, too. But i think that would be too complicated for most users. So i vote for a per-mastery-x-to-all-skills-version.

It would be a huge help if TitanCalc showed the 4 bonus skill levels you can get through items.
You could have a box to select (like the bonus skill points box) stating how much +1 to all skills bonuses you have. This way later in the game I could use TitanCalc to see how I can rearrange my skill points to see what additional skill trees I could complete, if I had a total of say, +6 to all skills.

One thing i would love to see is something similar to the rewards skill points, except for "+1 to all skills" etc (also would let us see what the bonus's are when a skill is at 16/12). Prolly a lot of effort though to find those skill bonus's...

Good work on the calc, very useful in planning character builds. A small suggestion - on the front page (masteries selection) it would be easier if the table was 'completed', evenif it means it would show combinations twice. Right now you often have to look down two lines of masteries to find the actual crossing.

Could you add lines with current +%dmg / +dmg on certain fields?
'Damage +35% + 30dmg'
'Elemental +70% +12dmg'
etc.
Maybe adding also where those modifiers apply? As in:
'Weapon: Damage +35% + 30dmg
---------Elemental +70% +12dmg'
'Spells: Fire +35% + 30dmg
---------Elemental +70% +12dmg'
etc.
It's pretty important to see which of the skills are overlapping and which improve what aspect of your character.
Great tool - keep it up.

Hey.
First off is the usual thanks for the calculator, and continuing to improve it.
Secondly, I have noticed a few things that would made your program become more useful as well as clear up a few things. Let's proceed.
----------
As well as the extra skill points you're awarded through the game, you're also awarded 18 attribute points. (2 from Chiron's quest, 2 for bringing the Staff and Eye to Imhotep, 2 from Bandari, Terra Cotta sidequest) these would fit will in a second drop down box under the skill one.
You also receive 148 additional attribute points (74 levels*2) and it would be a great improvement to have them become an adjustable feature as well. To begin with, it allows for a more fuller customisation of statistics, and secondly, it opens up a later possibility of updating the calculator with various formulae that show Offence/Defensive abilities, as well as Health/Mana totals.

My next suggestion requires an error that needs to be changed. In the "what's this" link beside the skill point DDB, you have under act two, "+2 skill points from obtaining the eye and the staff". this is incorrect, as you receive -attribute- points for those. You receive the skill points after you've killed the Telkine in the Tomb of Ramses, and returned to Imhotep in the Temple of Seti.
Underneath in explaination, you have 'The reward attribute points selection' which should be skill points, instead.
On the calculator screen there is also a grammatical error which says "shift-right click = reset points points" that needs to be changed.
Next. In terms of layout, it sits rather well, however the 'reset mastery' button should be moved to a more clearer spot, preferable to the right column.

I would also recommend swapping over the 'Base attributes' box, with the 'calculator instructions' lines. Reasons being, the lines being there breaks the flow of customised infromation, and I think it would look better being at the top, instead of between completely different areas of relevent information.
Finally (as by now I'm sure you're probably sick of this critique) you may be aware that certain pieces of equipment in the game can give +1 to skills, taking them beyond their limit. I dont know if you need the extra information from all the stats or not, but in future it would be worth looking into another box stipulating the effects of certain skills with that special equipment equipped. This would just be shown as another DDB which adds +1 to all base skills. Again, the only problem here is if you -have- the information to know the difference between say, 6/6 Armour Handling and 7/6. It'd be an entirely new set of things to input.
Again, sorry if this comes out

"Estimated Character Level" (=ECL) calculating has a minor error.
When I start the TitanCalc, the ECL is 1, it is OK.
If I add 1 or two points to the mastery, the ECL is 1. It is not good, coz if I have ANY skill points, I am on level 2.
Char level 1: 0 skill point
Char level 2: 1, 2, 3 skill points
etc.
TitanCalc:
ECL level 1: 0, 1, 2 skill points
ECL level 2: 3, 4, 5 skill points
The ECL starting value is the bad. ECL level 2 is on 3rd skill points, but in the game the 1st.
